I was born right here in Nashville, grew up in Wilson County, and graduated from MTSU. I have an ongoing love affair with Nashville and everything about it. I am so proud of this city, and I'm fortunate to have watched it grow up over the past 30 years and become the awesome place it is now! I'm an avid sports fan (Go Vandy, Bama, Preds, Titans, Braves, and Grizzlies!), technology dweeb, and Twitter junkie. Put the three together, and you can find me talking sports via Twitter on my iPhone, pretty much any time of day. (I must say, this bio is fun to write, because they didn't limit me to 140 characters!) My real claim to fame came in 2003, when I was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune (when the show taped a few episodes here in Nashville), and won $9800.
I'm a second-generation radio pro. My dad was a deejay on a couple of small-town Middle Tennessee radio stations back in the 70s. I, myself, have been rocking the airwaves since 1999. After a few part-time gigs on Classic Hits, Sports Talk, and Country Music stations around Nashville in the early '00s, I landed at Cumulus in 2005 and was heard on-air on 97.1, and did some behind the scenes work on our sister stations, 99.7 and 106.7. Cumulus shipped me 100 miles south to Huntsville, Alabama, where I programmed and managed a couple of talk radio stations for four and a half years, and became a local celebrity doing traffic reports on radio and TV. So, yeah, I could probably still get a free meal in Huntsville if I tried hard enough. It was also in North Alabama that I met and married my beautiful wife, Audrey.
I came back to Nashville in 2010 to work full-time behind-the-scenes on 99.7 WTN's "The Dave Ramsey Show", and now occupy my weekends playing the greatest hits of all time on 97.1 RQQ! |
